On Monday, a FlyDubai plane with over 160 passengers departed from Kathmandu airport. However, it encountered an issue with one of its engines shortly after takeoff at 9:20 am, as reported by airport sources. The aircraft then flew over Dharke for a period before landing safely in Dubai on Tuesday morning. This news was reported by Nepal Television, a state-run television network.

After experiencing the engine problem during takeoff, the pilots of the FlyDubai plane communicated with the control tower and received confirmation that all indicators showed normal readings. Therefore, they decided to continue with the flight as planned. As reported by Nepal Television, the aircraft has since landed safely in Dubai.

Sudan Kirati, the Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, posted on his Facebook account to assure people that the FlyDubai plane was flying safely to its destination and that there was no cause for concern. The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal also tweeted that the flight, with over 160 passengers on board, including 50 Nepali passengers, was proceeding normally as per the flight plan from Kathmandu to Dubai.

Earlier, eyewitnesses had claimed that the aircraft caught fire in the sky over Kathmandu. Consequently, fire engines were put on alert at the Kathmandu airport, according to sources. However, the flight landed safely in Dubai without any reported incidents.
