DNA of Skeleton to be tested with that of missing child’s parents says SP Gangtok

Gangtok District POlice are investigating the case of a missing 14-year-old child named Diwas Gurung, who was reported went missing on July 17, 2022. As part of their investigation, a skeleton was found in the Enchey Jungle just recently , and it is believed that the skeleton could be that of the missing child. To confirm this, the DNA of the skeleton will be cross-verified with the DNA of the missing child’s parents.
The missing child was known to have suffered from anxiety, which was documented in his medical records found at the scene of the investigation. The child’s mother had also informed the police about his anxiety when he was reported missing in 2022.

The Superintendent of Police in Gangtok IPS Tenzing Loden Lepcha has provided an update on the case, stating that the DNA testing will be used to confirm if the skeleton found in Enchey Jungle is that of the missing child, Diwas Gurung.
