Ruling Sikkim Krantikari Morcha(SKM) replied to the criticism by parties and organisations following mob violence at Singtam. CP Sharma, Spokesperson in a press statement said that the party expressed deep sorrow to Keshav Sapkota, who was injured in the physical attack incident at Singtam on 08 April. Sapkota is currently undergoing treatment in Manipal. “The Sikkim Krantikari Morcha Party urges everyone that the chain of peace of a holy state like Sikkim should not be broken and strongly condemns the incident,” he said.
SKM blamed Sikkim Democratic Front(SDF) Supremo and Hamro Sikkim Party(HSP) Chief Bhaichung Bhutia stating the incident that happened yesterday was under the direction and conspiracy of the opposition political party, especially the SDF Party and its Supremo Pawan Chamling and Bhaichung Bhutia of HSP.
Sharma further alleged that that the administration did not give permission for the JAC to hold a rally in Singtam knowing that the SKM party is also conducting a blood donation camp in Singtam, Pawan Chamling and Bhaichung Bhutia, forced the JAC to hold a rally and “spread the riot themselves”.
“This time too, by pressuring the JAC to hold a procession, it is clearly understood that Chamling himself conspired to reduce this incident. Therefore, the way Pawan Chamling is blaming the SKM party is nothing but a lie and a fabrication. The intention to do such a conspiratorial act can only spring from the corrupt mind of Pawan Chamling,” he said.
