Gangtok, March 26 : Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang(Golay) inaugurated the “Remodelled Saraswati – Dolma Mandir” at 5th Mile in Tadong, today.
Speaking at the event, Prem Singh Tamang welcomed the general public who had come together to attend the inaugural session. He said that the State government has always worked for the good the
of society. He reflected on his experiences and stated that the level of affection he receives from the people is unparalleled in his journey of public life. This gives him strength and motivates him to devote his time to the State’s development, he added.
Recalling the memories of the former Chief Minister Nar Bahadur Bandari, he highlighted that the foundation stone of Saraswati – Dolma Mandir was laid down by him on 5th October 1985 and was inaugurated on 1st February 1987. He said that it is indeed his pleasure to remodel the same one during his term of office.
Likewise, Tamang spoke about the different schemes like Aama Scheme and the Sikkim Garib Awas Yojana that have benefited the society at large. He said that people’s participation has led to the success of several government initiatives.
He appreciated and acknowledged the work of the Area MLA. He further stated that the demand put forth by the committee would be considered after due consultation. He hoped that the joint efforts of the State and the Central Government will contribute to the prosperity and development of the State.
Furthermore, he said that the government will integrate more development projects in the next budget session for the State.
Area MLA, G.T. Dhungel, in his speech, expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for his overwhelming support for the project.He also thanked the committee for their support and assured them that he will help in every way possible to elevate the society.
During the occasion, Prem Singh Tamang was felicitated by the Mandir Committee.
Chief Engineer, Urban Development, Shailendra Sharma, presented a short technical report about the remodelled Saraswati – Dolma Mandir.
Earlier, the Chief Minister took a round of the temple campus accompanied by officials and committee members.
