New Delhi, Nov 30 : The Sikkim Students’ Association Delhi (SSAD) has successfully concluded its General Election for the 2025–26 tenure at New Sikkim House, Delhi. The event marked an important occasion for the Sikkimese student community as members gathered to elect their new representatives.
Mr. Bindash Chettri has been elected President unopposed, reflecting strong confidence and support from the student community. He is currently pursuing his M.A. in Political Science at the University of Delhi.
Along with the President, the newly elected members of the executive body are as follows:
Vice President: Tshering Doma Sherpa
General Secretary: Neehal Rai
Joint Secretary: Nhisher Palsang
Treasurer: Tseten Wangchuk Sherpa
Cultural Secretary: Chewang Chuki Lachenpa
PR Head: Yeshey Dorjee Sherpa
Sports Secretary: Nedup Zangmu Bhutia / Kunga Dorjee Bhutia
Social Media Head: Hissay Gyampo Bhutia
Women’s Coordinator: Lhayang Sherpa
During the programme, outgoing executive committee members were felicitated with tokens of appreciation for their contributions and dedicated service during their tenure.
The election was officially declared in the presence of Shri Sunil Kumar, IFS, Additional Residential Commissioner, Sikkim House, ensuring transparency and smooth conduct of the electoral process.
With the election concluded, the newly elected committee will now take charge and work toward strengthening student engagement, cultural activities, and welfare initiatives for the Sikkimese student community in Delhi.
