On the way to Singtam at around 5 PM today evening, a newly married couple had an accident near Oasis Cafe while riding a bike. Reports suggest that the bike collided with the steel railing on the road, causing the riders and pillion rider to fall off the road and into a gorge approximately 100-150 feet below. Fortunately, they landed on twigs of plants, preventing them from falling into the Teesta river, which was approximately 300-400 feet below.
The local people, Singtam Rangpo Highway patrolling team, drivers, and media team worked together to rescue the rider. They went below the 100-150 feet gorge and successfully rescued the rider, who was then taken to Singtam hospital by the Singtam Highway patrolling team.
