According to the press release of Sikkim Police, those arrested are Kedar Nath Tewari, Suresh Tamang, Uttam Pradhan, Bidhan Shanker, Prakash Pradhan Jullet Subba, Phula Bhutia and Chandra Kumar Sharma.
As per the written FIR from one Mr. Suresh Kr. Tamang of Singtam Bazaar to the effect that on 8/4/2023 at around 1100 hours, the complainant and his friends were heading towards Indreni Bridge, Ghoskhan Dara to see the rally called by JAC members (The members of JAC were already gathered there).
Wherein the complainant’s friend Ajay Tamang was assaulted by Iron hammer on head by Mr. Keshav Sapkota, Kedharnath Tiwari, Navin Karki and others from back with an intention to kill him.
Ajay Tamang has been seriously injured and he has been taken to District Hospital Singtam for medical attention. Thereafter injured person has been referred to CRH Manipal and he is still admitted there.
2. BRIEF FACT OF THE CASE: Received a written FIR from working president of JAC (Joint Action Committe) Mr. Ashis Rai and Vice president Tirtha Sharma to the effect that on 8/4/2023 at around 1130 hours when the complainant and other fellow members of JAC were assembled at Indreni Bridge, GhosKhan Dara of Singtam Bazaar for a peaceful rally wherein Mr. Keshav Sapkota, the general Secretary of JAC was physically assaulted by groups of unknown people of Singtam Bazaar to interrupt and stop the peaceful rally procession. The victim Keshav Sapkota has been immediately sent to District Hospital Singtam then referred to CRH, Manipal for further medical treatment and he is still admitted there.
Based on the above information Singtam PS Case No. 16/2023, u/s 325/34 IPC registered against unknown persons.
