Here’s Good News , daughter of Sikkim Neelam Gurung emerged winner of First Nepali Poetry Reality Show Nepal’s ‘The Poet Idol Season 1’. Neelam Gurung is the first contestant who has lifted the prestigious title , interestingly first ever to win the contest since it’s Nepal’s Reality show ‘The Poet Idol Season 1’ . The show was streamed in YouTube by OSR Reality which run 33 episodes during the last 3 months.

Last week, Neelam Gurung returned to her home state of Sikkim where she was greeted by thousands of fans and well-wishers at Rangpo with garlands and flowers. Her victory has sparked a great deal of enthusiasm among the people of Sikkim and the surrounding hills. It’s worth noting that Neelam Gurung is a language teacher by profession and works at a government school.

Neelam was awarded a prestigious trophy by Director AP1 HD TV, Capt. Rameshwar Thapa, along with a cash prize of 1 million Nepalese rupees and a contract worth Rs 5 Lakh for book publishing from Yatra Publishing House.

Neelam Gurung expressed her gratitude in a thanksgiving note where she thanked several individuals and groups. She gave a special thanks to the Chief Minister of Sikkim, Prem Singh Tamang (Golay), and his Political Secretary, Jacob Khaling. Neelam also expressed her gratitude towards her parents, Father Dilip Gurung and Mother Basundhara Gurung, the people of Sikkim, the crew of the show, and her fellow contestants.

In her note, Neelam expressed her commitment to continue pursuing her passion with full enthusiasm and energy. She also thanked Nepal, stating that her win has strengthened the ties between the two regions.
