Three days ago, a newborn baby went missing from North Bengal Medical College & Hospital (NBMCH) in Siliguri. Two women, Sita Das and Anju Das, were arrested in North Dinajpur District’s Balarampur under Chopra Thana Village, and the newborn baby was recovered by the Siliguri Police, who confirmed that the infant was in good health.

Duo are mother and daughter who were produced before the magistrate today , they’ve now been sent to 7 days police custody for further interrogation.


After the disappearance of the newborn baby, the Siliguri Metropolitan authorities launched an intensified search operation, which included a team that was put together to carry out the mission.

Siliguri Mayor Gautam Dev interacts with media after baby was recovered. He informed that he talked with NBMCH regarding safety and security of patients and people, as such he has directed setting up CCTV cameras as well as tightening manual security in all sections of hospital.
