Pakyong, 26 March : A major landslide triggered at Sokpay on Dikchu-Rakdong road at the wee hour of this morning. Fortunately, no human casualties has been reported. But the several public properties is said to have damaged which can be scaled in day. There has been report of livestock losses. Village sits atop Teesta Stage V NHPC Damsite.
Under Dikchu-Zang GPU , Sokpay village is falls in Tumin-Lingee constituency South Sikkim. According to victims the landslide occurred at around 2 AM in morning on Sunday , all families immediately fled from the place due to which there’s no case of any casualty. Four houses were damaged, 18 families shifted to safer place, 5 to 6 livestock comprising of Cattle and Pigs were killed tells administration.
