Is Your YouTube Channel Safe? Monetization Rules Change July 15th

New Delhi, July 15 : YouTube is changing its rules for making money from videos, starting July 15, 2025. If you want to earn money, your videos need to be original and authentic, or you could lose your ability to monetize.

YouTube has always said that only original content can be monetized, but now they’re cracking down even more. They’ve stated they’re updating their rules to better identify “mass-produced and repetitious content” which they now consider “inauthentic.” This likely includes videos made with repetitive templates, low-effort content copied from others, AI-generated content without a personal touch, and spammy uploads from anonymous channels.

While YouTube hasn’t completely banned AI content, these new rules might affect channels that rely heavily on AI voices, avatars, or automated scripts, especially if they produce a lot of low-effort or repeated videos. For example, gaming channels using AI avatars and voices might be reviewed unless they add their own significant voiceovers or commentary.

Virtual YouTubers (VTubers) who use animated avatars should still be safe if they provide their own voices and original content. Many VTubers have become very popular and earned a lot of money. However, those who rely entirely on AI-generated content might face issues.

Until YouTube provides more details after July 15, creators should focus on making unique and personal content, avoid repetitive or template-based videos, be careful when using AI tools, and make sure their videos offer value or originality.

This change is happening because YouTube wants to protect the quality of content on its platform. If creators only use AI and copied content, the viewer experience gets worse. This change could also impact companies that provide AI tools, as fewer creators might pay for them if monetization is blocked.
