Inspiring Tale of Trust: Odisha Tourist Applauds Sikkim Police for Humanity and Exemplary Policing

In a heartening display of swift action, integrity, and empathy, the Sikkim Police have once again proven their unwavering commitment to public service. Mahabahu Nayak, a tourist from Bhubaneswar, Odisha, has publicly expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Sadar Police Station team in Gangtok for the prompt recovery of his lost mobile phone, which was reportedly snatched at the bustling MG Marg area.

Following the incident on April 2, 2025, Nayak filed a General Diary (GD No. 48/02.04.2025, 9:40 PM) at Sadar Police Station. Just days later, on April 10, he received an official update—complete with an image and confirmation—indicating that his phone had been successfully recovered under request ID: 202504070216208228.

Overwhelmed by the professionalism and humane approach of the officers, Nayak personally commended LNK Namrata Sewa of the Tracking Department for her empathetic assistance and relentless efforts. Her reassuring communication and commitment made a significant impact on Nayak, especially given his status as an out-of-state visitor unfamiliar with the region.

Nayak also acknowledged SHO Mr. PL Niraj Khatiwara for his strong leadership and the overall efficiency of the police team. He described the officers as true ambassadors of law and humanity, whose sincerity not only resolved the case but also left him with lasting respect for Sikkim’s law enforcement.

“This incident has not only restored my faith in law enforcement but also made me feel genuinely protected in an unknown land,” said Nayak, adding, “Sikkim Police have set a golden example of what policing with heart looks like.”

This commendable act underscores the Sikkim Police’s dedication not just to duty, but to delivering justice with compassion—a model that truly deserves national applause.
