Sikkim experienced a tragic day as four cases of unnatural deaths were reported across different police jurisdictions, sending shockwaves through the region.
The first incident, reported by the Uttarey Police Station, involved Binay Kishore Rai, a 33-year-old man from Upper Mukrung. He was discovered hanging in his residence, with initial reports suggesting suicide.
In Rangpo, two separate cases were registered. The first involved Kharga Bahadur Limboo, a 51-year-old man found dead in the bathroom of his home near Mining. The second was a heartbreaking case of Puspita Das, a 20-year-old student who fell from the eighth floor of her hostel at SMIT in Majhitar.
Meanwhile, the Rhenock Police Station reported the death of Ravi Rai, aged 38, who had been missing since October 25, 2024. His body was found on a cliff in Hatticheray.
Authorities have launched investigations into these incidents, which are handled under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023.
