The Chief Minister of Sikkim- Mr. Prem Singh Tamang attended the Boom Puja (Biswa Shanti Puja) organised by Gnagyur Thekchuk Chocurling Gumpa Committee at Upper Sumin today.
The HCM express his best wishes on the eve of Dr.Ambedkar Jayanti and Navavarsha to all. Further he thank the organising committee for inviting him on such auspicious occasion.
He informed that the road connecting Upper Sumin to Pakyong and NH 10 will be tendered soon and urged the concerned deptt official to work this on priority.
Linning example of organic farming in the area and considering it’s potential, he said that tourism industry can be boost by way of building homestay, presenting organic items and eco- friendly environment.
He lauded the role of government in providing incentive to all enterprising farmers in the field of agriculture, horticulture and dairy farming and also directed the official to co- ordinate and inspect the field for quality and quantity production and to extend all possible support to the farmer.
For effective and efficient functioning of the government all benefits will be disburse ward wise and each Block Administrative Centre will have grievance redressal Cell which will function in Co ordination with CMO office.
Initially, MLA Namcheybong Mr. Em Prasad Sharma welcomed everyone and extended his greetings on the occasion of Baisakhi Parva, the Nepalese New Year. He also made a demand to the Hon’ble Chief Minister for the development of the road at Sumin as well as a connecting road from Sumin to Pakyong. He added that the demand for road connectivity is crucial to the development of the region and to improving accessibility for the people living in these areas.
Mr. Namgyal Sherpa, who had previously contributed land for the construction of Gumpa, was honoured during the programme with a felicitation.
Earlier HCM also visited the Thupden Gacchaling Monastery at Middle Sumin.
