Kolkata , 08 July : The three days long ‘Travel & Tourism Fair’ (TTF), India’s largest travel trade show which took place in Netaji Indoor Stadium, Kolkata (West Bengal) ended successfully with the award distribution ceremony under different categories to different States/Union Territories which was handed over from the hands of the Chairman-cum-CEO, Fairfest Media Pvt. Ltd. ‘Mr. Sanjiv Agarwal’, Director for Tourism, Government of Bangladesh and Director of Nepal Tourism Board.
‘Sikkim Tourism’ also bagged the award under the category of “Best Eco-Tourism Destination” from the North-East together with the Tourism Department of Meghalaya.
The award was received by the Special Secretary, Madam Smt. Namrata Thapa and Joint Director, Shri. M.K. Pradhan.
The final day of 30th TTF recorded more than 7, 000 visitors to the stall of Sikkim Tourism who were accorded with warm reception by the stakeholders and were offered brochures, pamphlets and promotional materials. The stakeholders of Sikkim are extremely happy and satisfied with the volume of B2B & B2C business they have received as a result of the platform created by the Tourism & Civil Aviation Department, Government of Sikkim for which they are extremely grateful.
The members of Gnanthang Machong Eco-Tourism Development Cooperative Society (GMETDCD) and All Sikkim Rural Tourism Development Committee (ASRTDC) left no stones unturned to ensure promotion of rural and community tourism in the State.
The Chairman-cum-CEO, Fairfest Media Pvt. Ltd. greatly stressed and applauded Sikkim Tourism in respect to Eco-Tourism development in the State.
The tourism stakeholders of Sikkim have thanked the department for the marketing platform they have been provided in TTF’Kolkata after a very long gap and have further requested the department to participate in TTF’ Bangalore so as to capture South & South-West market.
