09 Aug, Gangtok : Sikkim Vigilance Police arrested Mr. Dilip Chettri the then DCSO and registered criminal case against him and other unknown officials of Food and Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department and Mr. Monoj Kumar Agarwal, Director M/S Manakamna Flour Mills Pvt Litd, Siliguri.

During the investigation it has been revealed that M/S Manakamna Flour Mills Pvt Ltd dishonestly and fraudulently cheated Govt of Sikkim by making short supply of 200 quintals of wheat products worth Rs 20 Lakhs approx, further the mill did not make any supply of approx 17,000 quintals worth Rs 85 lakhs.

Therefore Manakamna Mills Pvt Ltd in collusion with concerned officials from the department had caused pecuniary loss to the state exchequer to the tune of approx Rs 1 crore 15 lakhs.

The Vigilance Police conducted raid at the residence of Mr. Manoj Agarwal at Siliguri and continuous efforts are being made to arrest him as he is the main beneficiary of illegal money obtained by cheating the government.

  • Past 2/3 yrs we have seen verious cases like curuption n crime in different news paper about arrest but till now we never hear they are in jail n they have to paid panalties no….why?
