12 Dec, Gangtok : Gangtok Himalayan SC had to be satisfied with one point following a 1-1 draw against Guwahati FC in a second division I-League match at Paljor Stadium, Gangtok on Saturday.

The home side conceded a much disputed goal in the 19th minute with the assistant referee signalling that Somide Adelaja’s shot had crossed the line of the Gangtok Himalayan SC goal.
Gangtok Himalayan SC came strong in second half and created several openings. Three headers from close range by Samuel Kane, Babatunde A Badmus and Afzal Ansari were saved by Guwahati FC goalkeeper Suvam Sen.
Kane was also unlucky to see his header being cleared from the goalline by the defender.
The persistence finally paid off in the 81st minute when a Guwahati FC defender was adjudged to have committed a handball in the box. The penalty was converted by Babatunde bringing joy for the home fans.
With this draw, Gangtok Himalayan SC has five points from four matches while Guwahati FC has four points from four matches.
Gangtok Himalayan SC takes on Fateh FC, Hyderabad on December 26 at Paljor Stadium.
