how can it be fair when a commerce student did a hard labour by teaching in a remote place in the session 2011-12, being selected randomly when the govt was in dire need of teachers, and now the same person who has become experienced is not even given a chance to fill up the form in the same post.Do you guys think it is 'FAIR''???

hey prashant thnx 4 ur appreciation.....obviously there's a huge potential 4 wat sikkim has to offer.first and foremost i'd go 4 tourism..............take dzongu 4 instance, its one of its kind in the world.......so on every community in sikkim can showcase their culture ....many years be4 nobody knew bhanjhakri falls will be so hit, look now its a win win situation 4 all (waterfalls are found almost all over sikkim ),not to mention mighty kanchendzonga n other many places of intrest, wat else do we need?according to the tourism dept. statistics domestic tourist arrival 2 sikkim was around 700011 in the year 2010 n foreign tourist arrival was around 20757 the same year .its almost double the arrival compared to 2005 and increasing. apart frm that many bollywood directors hav shown intrest for their movie projects in sikkim........Imp.part of it is,money generated by tourism r directly collected by the people not lyk the hydroprojects where only and nly few elites are taking advantage ignoring rest of the population n the devastation which it can cause........in case of govt. jobs yes, still many sikkimese are dependent on it but the situation is not lyk as it used to be, it is slowly but surely changing.................now, more n more present generations are opting for independent jobs either maybe due to their lyks or maybe due 2 lack of government job ............i have seen not much but there"s a presence of small software/hardware dealers companies especially around gangtok and in other major towns in sikkim generating jobs 4 our engineers n major hotels for our management students n many more........many of our sikkimese worker abroad or in other parts of the nations either directly or indirectly contributing to our economy, ultimately adding to the nations economy.............so guys, its not the govt. that runs us becoz of us govt.runs n the choice is ours whether to be self centered and think only of present or to work for the better tomorrow.

People have fears which the govt cannot easily address and yet it is in some way an essence for development etc.... But alas!!!!! its only the money, filling of pockets of some greedy idiots that closes all the other issues..

hey pema and anonymous, very good and valid points from both you guys.shows that the passion and feeling for sikkim- and what it can be is still there, especially amongst us youth.
sikkim is in a strange sort of a position politically you know...i dont think anywhere else in india are people so dependant on govt jobs.i wonder if per capita, sikkim has the highest no of govt employees...point i am getting to is, if one raises a voice, that person and his family gets victimised....even i am not sure of what development in sikkim is, one thing for sure, hydel projects, more buildings arent the answer...can you guys think of what can be done?
