Bikash dahal : Sikkim’s son defends PhD in ‘Sikkim’s Traditional Hadnicraft’ Thesis
15 Oct, Gangtok : Bikash Dahal of Saramsa Garden, East Sikkim has successfully defended his PhD thesis on “An Economic Analysis of Handicraft Industries in Sikkim”. He got the degree from Department of Economics, Annamalai University, Chidambaram, Tamil Nadu on October 09, 2015.
The thesis highlights micro level studies on Rural Industries viz. Handicrafts industries in Sikkim. It has comparative studies in both government and private sectors and has also focused production, marketing and socio economic conditions of handicrafts artisans of Sikkim.
Born on 14 April, 1985 at Saramsa Garden, Chota Singtam, East Sikkim to Mr. Bhagirath Dahal and Mrs. Munna Dahal Bikash begun his schooling at Kishan School, Aaho and done his secondary and senior secondary from Brihaspati Prasai Senior Secondary School, Ranipool. He graduated from Sikkim Government College, Tadong.
He has expressed his gratitude towards family, relatives, Human Resource Development Department, Rural Management Development Department, Directorate of Handicraft and Handloom, Department of Commerce and Industries, , Government of Sikkim and area MLA Namcheybong BB Rai for their support.
