One such bizarre incident has erupt from Singtam Khamdong constituency in East Sikkim where the people and contractor have togather spilled over the beans on head of department for bearing no responsibility in cooperating during the construction of 14 Kms Sang to Dipudara road. The unwell road which was sanctioned in the year 2004 for a facelift carpeting by coal tar seen many contractors until then but no any works was done. It was estimated that 12,00 barrels of Coal Tar for pitching the road of 14 Kms road leangth but the department delivered only 400 barrels. With the supplied coal tar only 3-4 kms road could be pitched, said ex panchayat TB Rai to media and the contractor Sanjay Agarwal expressed his dismay to stop the work in half way. Agarwal intends to blanket the road properly by pitching but the department is not in the mood to cooperate with the contractor in supply of materials. In the other hand the public in several occasion met with the Secretary in that regard but every time the secretary kept on giving an assurance, said one of the public voice to media. Fed up with the repeated assurances without any outcome since many many years the public has threatened now to call on dharna in front of the department office.
