Steel Bridge Connecting West Bengal & Sikkim at tar Khola over river Teesta, Melli-Jorthang

26 Nov,Rangpo: Everyone knows that Sikkim shares its border with nearby state of West Bengal through 4 bridges across Tista & Rangit rivers they are Melli,Reshi,Majhitar and Rangpo. These are the four most vital gateways which join the two state’s life line, there are daily thousands of people and vehicles plying across the region. Yet another bridge is unforeseen & alien to most the people in recent time, this bridge is located between Rangpo and Melli at a place called Thal-Thalay in Tar Khola. A steel bridge which connects adjoining two states (South Sikkim) is exactly located at Hydel Power Site of Teesta Stage VI. Daily many vehicles play transferring a goods to project sites, astonishing thing about this bridge is that there’s absolutely lesser attention paid for surveillance. Why is the department not bothered about this Entry No. ’5′ ?
There are almost several project loaded trucks, commercial vehicles enroutes through this bridge into Sikkim vis-versa which is hardly noted by any officials seriously, there’s just one Sikkim Police personnel recruited and few Sikkim Armed Force patrols around.  The soaring vehicular movements and diversified route to enter Sikkim has already baffled due to intangible influx soaring day by day as well as escalated crimes buffing up each day in the state. In such case the authority should promptly look into the matter for checking loopholes on priority at earliest as possible for sake of security also.
