2nd District level PYKKA Competition final of North

20 Nov,Mangan: The 2nd District level PYKKA competition 2011-12 concluded today at Mangan, public ground which was started from November 12th organised by Zilla panchayats and Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of India.
Today the programme was attended by DM(N) TN Kazi as chief guest coordinated by SDPO Mangan, RN Yadav, DSO East, Dr.RB Biswakarma, DSO North, J Lepcha, MNP Councilors and zilla members.
In overall, Tingchim Mangshila GPU stood first with 124 points, Navey Shotak GPU stood on 2nd with 110 points, Singhik Sentam GPU on 3rd position with 57points, Lingthem and Lingthem Lingdem GPU on 4th position with 28 points. The chief guest handed over the medals, certificates and trophies. And the organizers felicitated the guests with mementos and presented trek suits to participants.
Chief guest in his address congratulated all the selected participants and urged to show up there talent at state level competition and keep in touch with sports & education.
On November 19th, football boys & girls final match was held at Mangan and the match was held between (girls) Singhik Sentam Vs Lum Gor Santok GPU in which the former team won the match by 2-1 score and in (boys) the match held between Singhik Sentam Vs Tingchim Mangshila and former team won the match by 1-0 score. Chief guest for the day was zilla adhyaksha North, K Lepcha.
On 18th, archery, taekwondo & khokho competition was held at Phodong with wushu demonstration.
In same way the boxing final competition was held at Mangshila school ground. Total 64 boxers participated from 8 zilla panchayat units of North district, out of that 20 boxers have been selected for state level PYKKA competition which will held from December 16th at Gangtok.
