EQ: State govt to honor 7 Pawan Hans Chopper Pilots for their bravery & courage

19 Nov,Gangtok: State Govt to honor Pawan Hans Chopper Service Captains & Brave Heroes for their valuable contribution towards the state during an emergency of devastating Earthquake Tragedy of 18 September. The courageous tigers who dared to fly across the terrains of state during the devastating earthquake and relief thousands of lives as well as made valuable effort to drop essential commodities without concerning about weather conditions or flaws for immediate rescue & relief.
STDC (Sikkim Tourism Development Corp) and Pawan Hans has created a record for flying 44 sorties in a single day during the emergency state, on 21 Sept two more choppers was added in relief operation making it three. Even in the unexceptional weather conditions and durable wee hour these three choppers performed complete 394 sorties for service in North Sikkim as well as other districts where there was crucial breach of earthquake emergencies. Interesting thing to be noted is that these 7 brave heroes are the retired personnel’s of Indian Army. Name follows:
