19 Nov,Gangtok: This is for public information that the TB drugs that are being supplied by the Health Department, Government of Sikkim under the DOTS (Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme (RNTCP) is effective and of good quality.
The department would like to firmly state that Revised national Tuberculosis Control Programme is a National Programme of Idnia extended to the States. The key element of this programme is DOTS (Directly Oserved Treatment Short-Course) strategy which has five important components.

Therefore, good quality Anti tuberculosis treatment (ATT) drugs under DOTS are supplied by Government of India to the states. The quality assurance is maintained through stringent measures through an independent quality control laboratory which test samples on ramdom basis from District TB Centre, State Drug Store & Government Medical Store Depot.
It is reiterated that ATT drugs under DOTS supplied by the Central Government, through State is of good and effective quality. The people should be assued of its quality in every respect.
