30 Oct, Gangtok: Royenan Phulharu, a collection of Nepali poems written by Nabin Manohar, one of the most promising poets of Nepal was released in a simple function held here in one of the hotel. A group of prominent writers and journalists from Nepal attended the function along with the local writers and journalists. The function was chaired by Shri Mahesh Prasai from Kathmandu while the chief guest was poet Birbhatra Karkidholi. Prof. Pesal Acharya conducted the programme. Shri Bhanu Prakash Marmik, Secretary of Nepali Sahitya Parishad, Sikkim, B.Bantawa, Pranay Lamichaney were the guests of the honour. Shri Prasai expressed his happiness to release the book from Sikkim which he said, will help to build up rapport with the poets and writers of regions with writers of Nepal. He said that the book written by Nabin Manohar is a genuine and sincere expression of the poet. The flower is the symbol of positive thought and it sends the messages to all of us by smiling despite the storm and many obstacles.
Poet Karkidholi too expressed his happiness to release such a book and marked that he is greatly influenced by the beautiful poetic expression of Nepal’s poets. However, he contended that the flowers are sensible creation of nature, so it is a question whether the flowers really weep or not. He makes point further that the flowers are always weep as we find the petal of dew like tears in them.
Shri Bhanuprakash Marmik pointed out that such a function must be organized with a great festivity in Sikkim in the future so that the writers of both the countries can find forum to exchange their valuable experience and feelings freely. Nabin Manohar and Pesal Acharya recited their poems. Writer and journalist Pranay Lamichaney too highlighted the importance of co-operation and forum for the writers and journalists of both the countries for the promotion of Nepali language and literature. Poet Amar Baniya Lohoro, Writer Bijay Katuwal, poetess Leela Chhetri also were present on the occasion among other dignitaries.
Earlier, the guests from Nepal were given rousing welcome felicitation by offering Nepali and Sikkimese khada or scarf by Bhanuprakash Marmik and B.Bantawa on behalf of the writers and journalists of Sikkim .
