Day 5 - CM inaugurated newly built BAC Passingdang,North Sikkim
29 Oct,Mangan: On October 29, the Chief Minister and his entourage reached Passingdang and Namprik under Dzongu constituency. In the morning, at Passingdang the Chief Minister inaugurated newly constructed Block Administrative Centre, Passingdang .
While addressing the public meeting at both the places the Chief Minister directed to the HoDs of the line departments to prepare DPR of the demands place before him by the people. At the same time, the Chief Minister also instructed the area MLA and District Collector to look for safe alternative land for construction of house to the affected families. The Chief Minister further announced that as per demand of the people the statue of “MENSOLONG”- legend of Lepcha community will be installed in Dzongu and added that Sikkim will be a pious region with the statue of Guru Rinpoche, Lord shiva and lord Buddha in south district, Statue of Chirenzee in west Sikkim. At the same time the Chief Minister said that the people will also have to adopt clean attitude towards fellow citizens and work for the welfare of each other. He also called upon both government employees and public to join hands and work together for rebuilding and redevelopment. Referring to the proverb “action speaks louder than words” the Chief Minister stated that the 18 years of governance has seen a sea change in the development of the state, the result of which is evident everywhere. Earlier, at Passingdang the Chief Minister announced rupees one lakh from Chief Minister Relief Fund to the next kin of Sonam Namgyal Lepcha who died in a natural calamity on October 29 in Dzongu area .
