28 Oct, Mangan: CM make round up at Lachung, North Sikkim on Oct.28.2011, the team also inspected Phaka village where 7 houses were swept on Sept.21st by landslide and assured to construct new RCC houses for them soon then they visit at Lachung Gumpa and then a meeting was held at Lachung School ground coordinated by cabinet Ministers, Area MLA’s, Secretaries of different department and Pipons of the area. CM in his address stressed that, he was unable to make round up at earthquake affected ares of North District due to several tight schedules and in management of budgets for instant EQ reliefs & restoration but the Government had always in touch with the public and all the line department officers were deployed for the management of essential commodities & non-food items. And the demands of the Lachung people, restoration of boarder roads, jhoras, houses & lands for landless people, maintenance of Gumpa with EQ proof new technologies, will be fullfilled by the Government.
He also, informed people that beside that the people of Lachung must save biodiversity of the area which the natural beauty, he also suggested the un-employed youths to carry up Trout fish farming which has surplous market demand and had good income too. He also sanctioned in Principle, playground at Bitchu, scholarship for students of high altitude at TNA & other tourism projects for tourists. At Lachung total total 14 houses have been totally damaged and 56 are partially damaged and for them grants were sanctioned.
