MANGAN, October, 7: After 19 days of earthquake hit caused maximum disaster in North District due to major landslides & cracks which affected house damage, loss of life & property, transportation & communication cut off. Zilla Panchayat, Sakyong Pentong GPU, informed media that, Tholung Gumpa is an heritage & historical place of the State and it can’t be neglected in anyway. The condition of Tholung gumpa is worst and damage assessment is needed at earliest for restoration. The road from Lingzya towards Bay, Tholung is still cut off and for public transportation the stretch has to be recovered soon by Government. The people of Bay village which had 12houses with minimum 90 people is staying at Lingzya relief camp from Sept.21st, but here is a big?. How long the people have to stay at relief camp and had to stay migrated. Though the essential commodities are reached by air drop by Government and there is no shortage of food items. Even the ICDS centers &
schools are affected and students will face problems in this education session.
The NDRF rescue teams had already marched from North District and from October, 7th the Army rescue & restoration teams have marched to other areas from Mangan public ground temporary base camp. Now the Government had to concentrate on restoration of transportation routes & major house damages.
Food & Civil supplies Department dispatched 40 bags(20 quintals) of rice to Chungthang via road & tunnel. 200 numbers of LPG cylinders being forwarded to Chungthang. Ex-gratia & gratuitous relief disbursed for Toong-Naga GPU Rs.35,67,000 to 135 beneficiaries through cheques up to October 2nd. Cheques received on Oct.2nd 2011 regarding payment of Ex-gratia & gratuitous relief for RS.1,00,00,000 only which has been deposited at SBS, Mangan, informed IPR Department of Mangan.
