MANGAN, October, 8: On Oct.8th the team from Ministry of Home Affairs Department, Government of India, Jt. Secretary, Sambhu Singh, MHA Health, D Swatichurn, MHA, Agriculture, A Nandan Sharma, MHA, Finance, YP Sharma & Commandent, NDRF accompanied by DM(N), TN Kazi, ADC(N) and Sr.SP(N), BK Tamang visits Lingzya relief camp & 4th mile relief camp and met with affected people & Panchayat and the team also make a ariel view of Chungthang and Saffo area by chopper.
In Mangan Sub-Division total 3361 houses are affected in major & minor damages. The Lachung, Lachen & Chungthang area household damages assessment works are still in progress. Out of 20 GPU’s of North District, 15 GPU’s have been provided Ex-gratia relief grants and on October 9th the Lachung & Lachen affected people will be provided Ex-Gratia relief grants in presence of Area MLA and Distt.Administration and at Chungthang Sub-Division 50% instant relief grants have been already disbursed. From Thangu to Bansoi bridge the road has been recovered few days back. At maximum areas of Lachung & Chungthang the water supply and electricity supply has been temporary recovered. Chaten to Thangu, Thangu to Munguthang essential commodities are being droped through Army choppers and at Lachen 3 emergency generators with emergency lights have also been provided by Government & NGO.
At Sakyong-Pentong affected areas the Food & Civil Supplies Deptt today droped essential commodities and the people are coordinated by WO, PW Lepcha, Ex-Chairman, Pintsho Lepcha & DCSO(N), B Lepcha.
