Tenzing Danen (61), an ex-student of Gangtok’s Tashi Namgyal Academy (TNA), was the eldest son of former Lachen Pipon, late Rinzing Namgyal Kazi (Lachen Yapla). He was perhaps the third Lachenpa to come to study in Gangtok in the late 1950s.
Sikkim death tolls 68
In Sikkim, the number of death toll in Sunday’s massive earthquake has now risen to 68 with a maximum of 51 deaths reported in the worst hit North district alone. 300 people who have suffered injuries in the earthquake are undergoing treatment in hospitals
Department calls for providing a details of damages done by earthquake to religious institutions
The Department of Ecclesiastical Affairs has requested Duchi/Committee members of all the religious institutions in the State to contact officials of Eccl. Affairs Department
