Aidmatrix NDMA India with SPARK NGO visits Shiepgyer affected areas
30 Sep,Mangan: Yesterday on September 29th, a team of Aidmatrix, National Disaster Management Authority of India, Programme Coordinator, Sandeep Kashyap from Delhi in coordination with SPARK, NGO members of Singtam, Sheetal Pradhan and others with media visits Shiepgyer, Dzongu, & Toong affected areas. At Toong 11 kutcha houses of labours were damaged due to Sept.18th Earth Quake & Toong Police check post is also cracked at several places. The team also visits Shiepgyer GPU of Dzongu by foot from Toong. Though the road up to Shiepgyer is maintained for 4 wheeled vehicles by Army jawans, staff Department of Roads & Bridges & local people of the area from today onwards up to Shiepgyer village. The road was disrupted at several places due to major land slides.
The Siepgyer Gumpa which was constructed in the year 1983 is affected in mass, the supporting inner pillars, roof & floor parts was totally damaged and the local area people are maintaining it as it may collapse any time, the certain amount from GPU level relief fund is being utilized to maintain the Gumpa and the area Panchayat, Hisey Lepcha informed that, the GPU have total 142 houses and more than 755 people amongst them 140 houses are damaged maximum major & minor and at present maximum people are staying at relief camp due to fear at night time. The GPU areas are cracked at several places, water supply lines, health centre, ICDS school, are damaged. The essential commodities, medicines & water are transported to the area by Health Department ambulance and army Army. The people have also demanded around hundred LPG refilled cylinders for the area.
So, the area analysis is the most important factor for future sustainable of the areas and at present the people are mentally frustrated due to the psycho of earth quake which affected maximum damages to the public & Government property.
