Governor flagged UID ‘AADHAAR’ Project in the state
He’s a first citizen of Sikkim, Governor Balmiki Prasad Singh today formally inaugurated the Unique Identification Number UID project in the state at Raj Bhawan in Rangpo. The Governor in his addressal appealed the team leading the project to cover 100% in the state and make it a success story.

HRDD suspends 3 teachers accused of forging documents for CM’s Special Merit Scholarship
The headmaster and two teachers of Suntaley Junior High School in South Sikkim accused of having forged documents to enable their ward to sit for the screening test of the Chief Minister’s Merit Scholarship scheme were issued suspension orders by the Human Resource Development Department today
Deptt considers termination of 3 teachers who cheated State and students in CM’s Special Merit Scholarship scheme
The Human Resource Development Department has confirmed that the Headmaster, Purna Bahadur Gurung, and two teachers, Binod Gurung and Bhuwan Pandey, of Suntaley Junior High School had played foul in the conduction of the Chief Minister’s Special Merit Scholarship scheme at their school.

Solution beckons pending army-civil land disputes
Disputes involving Civil and Military Lands in Sikkim, some of which have pending for more than 50 years , are set for a permanent solution with the State Government accepting the recommendation of the 9-member committee constituted in 2009 to look into land related issues between the Army and State Government.
