Gorkhaland resolution passed in Sikkim Assembly

29 March, Rangpo: Today, with an information which spreaded allover when resolution on Gorkhaland was passed in Sikkim Legislative Assembly a delightful environment was created among the neighbouring hill peoples in both the region. Today the Chief Minister Dr Pawan Chamling in a concluding 6 days state budget session placed a resolution in the assembly table, he said ‘I have fullfilled my promise to Darjeeling Hills people, this step will certainly create a stronger bond between two regions. The resolution is passed in the house with an interest of people of Sikkim, I will do my best to pass this information to Center, Bengal Government and GJMM”.
As the news broke out there was a huge rallies in Darjeeling Hill, people gathered in the street of Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Dooars to celebrate the eventful day. In Sikkim people also appraised the stand of the state government towards fulfilling the dream of neighbouring region of Darjeeling Hill.
Speaking to the media on his occasion Gorkha Janmukti Morcha President (GJM) Bimal Gurung said the ties of two blood brotherhood has once again become a strong and stiff towards the movement. It is a historic day in the chapter of Gorkhaland demand that a long awaited dream has shown ample of space ahead for making it true, this will certainly add up as a catalyst to booste the demand in wider frame. He appreciated the Chief Minister of Sikkim in generous way, he said that entire nation’s Gorkha community are pleased towards his commitment and fulfilment.
Gurung told to media that today’s important day in the chapter of Gorkhaland will be celebrated in entire hills of Darjeeling , Dooars, Kalimpong, Kurseong for five days started from now. The people of Darjeeling will bestow in traditional attire to celebrate during the five days. He also said that the people of Darjeeling Hill will felicitate Chief Minister Pawan Chamling very soon for it, felicitation could be before or after election which will very soon declare about it.
On the other hand the GJM secretary Roshan Giri said “Pawan Chamlign is become a Hero of Gorkha Community”. In a border town of Rangpo at Darjeeling side huge massive people gathered and cherished the historic occasion.
