When corruption enters education then school becomes roofless
20 March, Namchi: The status and the present condition of Sanganath Government Secondary School at Sanganath South Sikkim shows that it makes obligatory part of the State government and the Human Resource Development Department for ensuring the Rights to Education Act for the children’s of this studying under Sanganath GPU. The school had enrolment of more than 325 students but students of primary section of this school had force to study in the roof sheet covered class room temporarily made at school ground by school managing committee. Here our students and future of Sikkim is preparing for the better Sikkim with roll in dust and the Human Resource Development Department is claming to give better education and rightly implementing Right to Education Act sincerely in the State. It may be reminded here that the 86th Constitutional amendment for making education a fundamental rights was passed by the Parliament on 2002. The right of Children to free and compulsory education act, a law to enable the implementation of fundamental right was also passed by the Parliament. Both the Constitutional amendment and the new laws came in force today for the better education in whole country. But in our state at remote villages this acts had been violated by the HRDD.
When this correspondent reached to the Sanganath Government Secondary School and finds the students studying in such condition the school managing committee informed that the department had demolished the old classroom as it was in very dangerous and runic condition and shifted the primary section in this temporarily made class at school ground. The department also assured to construct immediately new school building but its been many month no any such building works had been started. They further stated that the with the approaching monsoon the condition of the classroom will be more pathetic as there is no such any better sheds to stop rainwater to come in the classroom. The classroom of the primary section had been constructed at open school ground and the health of the students is also in concern as children’s loves to play in dust which is plenty in below their desk. When contacted Joint Director HRDD (S) Ganesh Chettri said that matter of the construction of school building is looked by the engineering cell HRDD and tender of the school building had been done much earlier.
He also narrated that he had not noticed that the students are in such condition and also informed that he had visited Sanganath GSS at the time when the old school classroom was begin to demolished. He further said and console that if the students are in the such condition than department will act quickly and manage something better before the monsoon will start.When contacted to the JE supervising this school building said that the tender of the work had been early but contractor was not getting the stock materials from the department it was the reason for the long delay of work and soon after stock materials will be released the work will be start.
Some village source informed the this long delay of work was that the contractor and the concern engineer wants to construct another storied at existing building for better save the amount sanctioned amount of
the building but the building cannot take the load of another storied which caused long delay and the small children had to face for this corruption war fare. It may be mentioned here that Sikkim is approaching with mass development in every aspects and moving towards multiplex complexes in many towns and bazars but the condition in the villages is still same where the basic need was also not been reached. The remote villages had been always second priority or overlooked by the government and the departments which Sanganath Secondary School proves.

HRDD needs to pull up its socks as this is the Department which is directly dealing with the future of our children who in turn will carve out the future of our beloved State Sikkim.
Answers must be called and responsibility must be fixed. CM Sir please ask explanation publicly from the Minister and Secretary of the Department.

i guess you missed out the photo of the dilapitated old structure and also the RCC building..sure i can understand that there may have been delay to construct a new one over the old dilapitated structure which by the way have been proposed …and as far as to my knowledge the work have been sanctioned but still work is yet to start…here we may have a say to the contractors to speed up the work but simply tagging someone with corruptions and other irrelevent phrases is simply unbecoming of a good citizens.i can also assure you makthang secondary school is remotely situated..though a PMGSY road link the area but still its very remote..now the carriage of materials and stocking of those material may take time because once you start the construction you need constant feed of material and as i have already said the nearest town is far away to rush things for the construction.
time is of essence here and we may have to wait and see the progress of work,the ground where they are having temporary classes was made with MGnrega scheme,though the student maybe facing a lot of hardship but come to makthang and you will see the resoluteness in their faces.Last year the students,Teachers and the BAC Sikkip Official were all involved in construction of Toilet in that school with active participation of students and teachers for asset generation,sense of ownership,character building,the teachers out there are hard working even when the area is remotely situated..the area MLA to my knowledge is working to speed up the work so you see my friends its easy to speaks with cozy backgrounds but when it come to reality its pretty hard, the staff of BAC are equally working hard to realize the dreams and aspiration of the student like the hardworking counterparts of HRDD.
Do you know the real problem of MAKTHANG school is WATER..now dont make a issue out of it,the source of water is bad for the SANGANATH GPU and during the Village Development Action Plan carried out by Sikkip Bac Officials very frequently the problem of water was addressed and overcoming it was their top priority for this financial year.Also friends are you all ready to carry a bucket of water to Sanganath GPU?Aint look easy right?visit ROCKLAND a ward of Sanganath…you will all love the stiff cliffs..try and promote tourism there.
oh really concern about water problem there in MAKTHANG school. wait for another five years entire sikkim will run out of water even tista and rangit will disappear from the map if anti natural activities continue
sikkim is now the playground for foul players. to wipe it out we youth should come forward and initiate the action other wise every things will be gone by next couple of ears
if players are like you thn wht can we expect.?. plz don't misguide the youths.. we youths are happy under Dr. cham's govt..

am really sorry for the people who comments against the government …….. they always highlight the school which is under plan and they never talk about school which are completed…. Chamling is not god and do some magic and construct school instantly …. " Chu manter doesnt work" …. so we should understand the love and care of chamling has for our sikkim ….. i dont know whoever wrote above comments are judging or injecting comments in the direction of some people…… i feel very sorry for people who write these kind of comments without judging…..
its 21st century everyone understood the fact and are able to judge . frankly speaking sikkim is moving backward because of you people . see the world moving fast but why we are lacking the pace .situation here is horrible and pathetic wake up mate .

its been 18 yrs saber ka bhi matlab hata hai . itna lamba saber karna padega mai ne ti socha nai ta.

whenevr somebody writes something should have clear understanding about its history as well as its present…..and yes today you see that childrens are studying in the temporary shed errected by school authority …and you know why..its because no teacher and the people of that particular place wants these children to miss out any classes….understand the emotion of the people on this good act by them….oh about the structure it was actually demolished because the government has given a new school building and in any case the old has to be replaced to get the new one…its just a matter of time.Once the school building is ready…our children will get a permanent additional school building….and thats what the government wants……a permanent School building ….i personally do not think this matter to be blown out of proportion..and that too in negative way…cum on if we want develoment and progress in sikkim than all of us have to contribute in a progressive manner….instead of making things worse…cum lets all join hands to build our State by contributing something in our own way……and for God Shake atleast if you can't do good things,than atleast dont do bad things………
books still not arrived in most of the schools whats your taking on this matter
