Saturday Nightout turns into violence, 21 years old shot on neck at Disco
07 Mar, Gangtok: On 05 March around 11:15 PM in Escape Disco premise located at Vajra some few kilometres from Gangtok a 21 years old was badly injured by a country made pistol of another person. The police have nabbed the alleged person. According to the report Temba Lhendup Lachenpa 44 years old made an open fire with his licensed .32 country made pistol, the bullet pierced through the neck of victim. The victim is a 21 years old Penjor Dorji Bhutia hailing from Tadong. The whole incident took place outside the Escape Disco. The severely injured victim was admitted immediately to the Manipal in ICU where he is being treated by the doctors. Till the report was being made the victim was out of danger. The police have registered a case of attempt to murder under Indian Penal Code 307, police have recovered two live cartridges, one magazine as well as a license of culprit is being seized. Police said in its report that the pistol’s license is registered on the name of alleged person itself. It is further told that the alleged person also aimed at the victim’s friend Jigmi Dorji Bhutia whith his pistol. PI Tshering Sherpa told the media that Jigmi rushed to the Sadar Police station to lodge a report about the incident. On the intervening night at disco a dispute blazed between the duo due to which a whole course of incident took place. Initially the duo was inside a disco where a verbal dispute took place between them, the people inside along with the staff of disco pacified the dispute. Grudge did not end there so the alleged person waited the victim out the disco where everything took place said the police. Revealed from the report lodged by Jigmi, it’s told that inside a disco the alleged person was dancing with his girl friend later his girl friend hit the victim who was also dancing in the same dance floor. The police claimed have interrogated with the staff and management of the said disco for detailed information over the incident.

This is a result of materialism and excessive facilities given to so called poor tribals in Sikkim. It is high time Government agencies compare the life standards of Tribals of Sikkim with those of tribals in other states of India. People who have 5 to six vehicles lined up in front of their houses are still considered poor tribals in our state. Reservations and economic incentives should be solely merited on the basis of financial rankings of the families. Besi guliyo khayo bhaney tito hunchha.

MY FRIEND TRIBAL PEOPLE IS SO MUCH OUTNUMBERS IN THEIR OWN PLACE THAT YOU CAN COUNT THEM IN FINGERS. SOMETIMES THINGS GO WRONG UNDER SOME CIRCUMSTANCE. WHICH CAN BE EXCUSED AND FORGIVE AFTER ALL THIS IS N OT THE FIRST TIME SUCH INCIDENT HAPPEN IN OUR STATE SIKKIM. WHICH YOU THINK SHOULD BE MORE SAMLESS RAPING A MINOR OR KILLING OF INFANT. So far the comments of the "Sikkimese" is concerned, I would rather say that it is the meanest way to express the views here. I belong to a place where there is a majority of Tribals…. I share my boundary with Tribals…. and Sikkimese may not believe that I didn't have had any problem in these 35 years. There are my childhood friends, their parents are like my parents… and we are like family……. I have observed your intellectual level "Mr. or Ms. Sikkimese" whatever you are… Please don't ever try to pull the matter by caste…. racism is not always welcome…. its a curse….. and to let you know…. the world condemns it. Regarding facilities the Tribal enjoy…. what I think is their constitutional right.
