Two Australian delegates Sally Padey, Owner& Director, Mogo Zoo, Australia and Hannelie Van Der Merwe, Head Keeper was on their two days visit in different place of Yuksam form 26th February 2011. The delegates visited Kanchandzonga National Park (KNP)

Sikkim’s Chuba Phong Gram Panchayat shines in nation
Chuba Phong (Namathang Block) from South Sikkim district of Sikkim and Dhamna (Mauranipur Block) and Dhamna Khurd (Chirgaon Block) from district Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh.
These Panchayats will be awarded tomorrow at a function in Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi to mark the completion of 5th year of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) by the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and the UPA Chairperson Smt. Sonia Gandhi.

425 Sikkimese leave for Delhi to express solidarity with Karmapa
A delegation of 425 people, including monks, from Sikkim left today for New Delhi to extend moral support to the team already in New Delhi working for the Karmapa and persevering to register a protest against the speculative reportage by national media [on the Karmapa issue] which was hurting the sentiments of Buddhists all over the world.
3 hydel projects get survey nod from MoEF
Union ministry of environment and forests (MoEF) has given the green light to resume the survey and investigation for three hydel power projects proposed on the Lachung river above Chungthang in North Sikkim.
The projects at Lachung (84MW), Bhimkyong (90MW) and Bop (97.5MW) were put on hold after the Centre for Inter-disciplinary Studies of Mountain and Hill Environment (CISMHE)
