GANGTOK, 31 Jan: The dissident group of the Sikkim Pradesh Congress Committee led by KN Upreti today released a leaflet ‘Sikkim Pradesh Congress Ma Vibhajan Ko Jimmewar Ko?’
The four-page leaflet seeks to explain what the dissident group sees as the factors which led to the ‘division’ within the Congress here and blames the SPCC president, Nar Bahadur Bhandari, for it. Mr. Upreti was accompanied to the press briefing by a section [four of the nine SPCC members] of the dissidents.
Addressing a press conference today, Mr. Upreti alleged that “poor leadership” of Mr Bhandari was even keeping away several leaders from other parties from joining the SPCC even though they were very eager to join the Congress in Sikkim.
He further alleged that the SPCC president was neither meeting the people nor central leaders on the several issues facing Sikkim and that the party high command in Delhi was unaware of the “real condition of the party workers and the people” here.
Mr. Upreti even contended that dissident SDF MLA, PS Golay, and other members of the ruling party were interested to join the Congress party but were not willing to work under Mr. Bhandari’s presidentship.
He went on to claim that the party high-command has given the assurance that Mr. Bhandari would not be leading the party in the next Assembly elections.
Mr. Upreti also alleged today that the Chief Minister had negotiated with the Congress high-command [in exchange for support of Sikkim’s two Members of Parliament] to keep Mr. Bhandari as the party president here.
Only yesterday, it may be mentioned here, the SPCC observed Martyr’s Day [Mahatma Gandhi’s death anniversary] at the party head office here and speakers reiterated that there was no factionalism within the Congress in Sikkim.

Congress cannot work under dictatorial leadership like that of n.b.bhandari. just by holding meetings at places, shouting on papers will not work…work has to be done on field…we know the actual truth. bhandari should know by know how much ppl dislike him. he cannot be the bhandari of 20 yrs back nw. bhandari seems to be happy on having lost 8 popular n real hardworkers from his party posts. He doesn realise how much vote banks has he lost by doing so! In simple words budo ko buddhi abo kheeya parnu thalaycha. Ths simply explains who is being run by the ruling Govt.
my dear friend let me give you the in depth story of spcc that is sikkim pradesh congress commitee. the party used to exist in sikkim even when there was a tug of war going on between the ruling sdf and ssp that is sikkim sangram parisad. after bhandari came into the fold of spcc it has become a main opposition in the state.now one should not take the credit away from the ex cm.he still has his loyal supporters but the oppurtunist ignorant people at the end moment gets carried away by false promises and cast their votes in the ruling box.
agreed to above statement with my few add-ons .Bhandariz time is over. history cannot be repeated twice. Bhandariz comment on PS Golay is very well known to public. Bhandari is A man of many mouths. Bhandariz tactics of using people for personal gain won't work anymore. Upreti and his group have our full support even though not openly but we trust you guys have been doing good and keep doing the same. All the work of Congress till now have been done by Upreti's group so far. now we wonder how Bhandari will work without arms, legs and above all the brain.

Bhandari is a corrupted man himself so before talking about corruption in Shri Chamling's record he should look into his own CBI cases of corruption. Time has changed him to be a corrupted man. Pls tell us frankly how much money have you received for giving license to run casino at your home?? which is now a mayfair resort. A right on a saying which goes " corruption starts at home" well if there is no such saying then quote it as a new proverb. In sometime to come Bhandari will withraw all cases put against Shri Chamling coz we know he is financed by the ruling govt. only to criticize Shri Chamling. AAm janta are being fooled by dirty politics. Until and unless he is there as the opposition leader neither ruling Govt gets toppled nor any new will join his party.

As a youth i am a supporter of Congress but not in favour of Bhandaris leadership. His wannabe hitler's attitude makes him fall everytime he wants to rise. So chapter closes for Bhandari with last election with no results.
what do I c here?….. anti-bhandari campaign going on?Not a single positive point for our Ex CM? Mr Bhandari has lost his status and ability in politics which has been proved in the last 2 elections. With a handfull of supporters who he has in his office (that too whom he has kept it on his pay-roll), he cannot think of even getting a single seat in the Assembly, next time He should first of all be ashamed of calling himself the leader of the opposition without having won a single seat in last 10 years in his presidentship. and the recent break-up inside the party has weakened him more with the major heavyweights on the other dissident group.

Bhandari will lose every coming election with not a single seat win. he should retire gracefully and let others do the work. with his leadership the congress mood has changed from hardwork ….to ….only enjoyment with no happiness. His political career is doomed and he should stop his lust for power n money at once.
