At 1 Sikkim just gets daisy chilled
18 Jan, Gangtok: The sudden change in a temperature in hills of Sikkim has shattered the normal lives of the people during a winter., the mercury tossed almost to 1. The temperature recorded by MET on 17 January was Max 3.4 Degree Celsius and Low of 1.3 Degree Celsius and Rainfall almost 13.4 mm. A sudden outburst of climate change resulted in snow falls in Ravangla after many years. Moreover Tsangu receives snowfall but it is estimated looking at the drop in temperature that this time the snowfall could be heavier than expected. MET department has announced that the present change in climate is due to phenomena Western Disturbances; they have assured that climate could remain constant until 21 January. The gradual difference in a climate was felt from 12 January in air of Sikkim.
Today the temperature dropped down almost to 1 Degree as reported by contacted sources in some parts of Sikkim with moderate Rainfall and Drizzle in almost all in parts of the state. Moreover the climate throughout the state was observed chilling than ever before in the starting of the year. Tourists are expected to have taken more privilege to entertain themselves with snowfalls, in street people were seen taking cosy warmth of Fire sitting beside a fire. Traffic was average than normal it used to be due to rainfall and fog which made driving hazy for the people. The capital’s beautiful park located in the heart town , MG Marg smeared with a glossy looks due to wet granite floor which touched a scenic pleasure from the distance with a children’s and people dressed in warm outfits , mufflers walking gently in pairs. In South District headquarter Namchi Beautiful Central Park was looking pleasant with peoples taking a sizzling walk and sitting in the benches surrounded by flowers and variety of showpiece.
