Chamling using 371 F as a shield in CBI inquiry: SNPP

14 Jan, Gangtok: Sikkim National Peoples Party (SNPP) today alleged the ruling Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) for using the special provision act, 371 F as a shield in Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry upon state chief minister Pawan Kumar Chamling and others.
Speaking to news men here today, SNPP president Biraj Adhikari stated that Chamling and his men are avoiding the CBI inquiry applying the special powers provided by 371 F which in turn could have been implemented at the time when numerous central government Acts entered Sikkim like as Direct Income Tax Act.
“Since long, SNPP has been maintaining that 371 F could be used for the betterment of state people. But the same is being applied now, when Chamling has felt a necessity of it from abstaining CBI inquiry of his own”, he underlined.
Adhikari further teached that the state in recent years is flooded with numerous central government Acts which in turn diluted the 371 F to a larger extent.
Claiming the fact that the CAG reports have been indexing that Sikkim is facing rampant corruption from past 16 years, he stressed the necessity of CBI inquiry over Chamling and other SDF party men at the earliest.
“State opposition parties labeled allegations could be a fabricated one but not the CAG reports. If central government act unmoved in Chamling’s CBI inquiry, it will be certain that central government has no role in Sikkim state”, he mentioned stating that the delay in CBI inquiry could lead towards decreasing of faith of state people towards the central government.
Speaking in same line, SNPP Treasurer Diley Namgyal Barfunga said that Chamling and his party men should let the probe agency investigate in order to come up with clean hands.
“SDF claims a democratic and clean government in Sikkim. If the ruling party words are to be believed then what is the fear from CBI invading state for inquiry”, he questioned.
Censuring the Loksabha MP, PD Rai statements that Bhandari along with state opposition parties are playing a proxy war against SDF party and chief minister Chamling through filing politically motivated cases and FIR, Barfunga said that the opposition parties are acting in democratic manner with the filing of cases and FIR are a democratic instrument, thus the statements of Rai makes no sense at all.
Commenting on the recently passed Lokayukta bill and announced Patra commission, Barfunga cleared his party stand in it stating that the move was made only after the FIR of disproportionate assets against SDF men was made and CBI started investigating upon it, SNPP smells a vested interest of Chamling on its aforesaid introductions thus it condemns the same.
“Central government should make sure that democracy is established in Sikkim. If the guarantee is denied then the absolute merger of Sikkim with India comes under cloud”, he supposed.

The SDF Government under the leadership of Shri Pawan Chamling has secured the full right of Sikkimese people including the exemption from Central Income Tax as provided under the spirit and principle of Article 371F of the Constitution. There have been host of historical achievements made by Shri Chamling in all spheres which are quite obvious for the collective welfare of the Sikkimese people. Can we discount the faith and confidence of the people towards Shri Chamling in his election for the fourth consecutive terms?. Shri Adhikari, otherwise an educated elite, is wasted by raking up history and seeking to regain the protectorate status for Sikkim! Is it possible?? Once the promising workers under Shri Pawan Chamling, they are now often seen with Shri Bhandari who himself has declared long time back that Sikkim’s integration with Indian Union has been a case of “fait accompli”.
I come from one of the remote villages of Sikkim and the remote tag is no more needed to address my village as Shri Chamling in his giant leadership has done everything possible to make every nook and corners of the state well connected with the rest of the world and also the standard of life of villagers has considerably gone upwards in these recent years. So looking at all this efforts of Chamling how could one possibly think that he is upto something very untrue. I appreciate that opposition parties are playing a good democratic roles but alleging Chamling is quite not digested by villagers.

The present ruling government has always voiced for the demand of the masses and the general pubic to give the justice at the highest level .
Like wise the Right to the Freedom of Speech and Press was seldom observed before by the predecessors of the present goverment. Things have certainly changed over the peroid of time and now every individual Sikkimese irrespective of whether the Opposition Parties or the general people like you and me are much more indepedent to voice our opnion or the raise any question/ issues against the working of the government.

This system of fairness and tranperancy was very much missing during the rule of Lt. L.D Kazi and Shri N.B Bhandari regime and there was a widespread misuse of the funds allocated for the welfare and development of the state and its people. However this kind of practises has not been the legacy and carried forward by Shri Chamling. He has been very instrumental in appraising the people of various rights and the schemes that are there for the welfare of the masses and specially to the poorer section of the society benfetting them at the best. Also I would like to mention here that he does not bluff people inorder to gain sympathy like many of his predessors did during their times and these things must be well taken by the younger genration of Sikkim instead of looking at the vague impression one should always find the true fact rather than running after the false issues.

POOR mr.kaamila sir,you have still not properly judged the situtation prevaling in sikkim currently..the opposition are crying foul not because of unnatural work line of govt.but envious of possitive developement of sikkim under the dynamic leadership of DR.CHAMLING!!!

According to Mr. Vickey, if anyone has to be prosecuted at the present scenerio than it would be none other than the likes of Mr. Bhandari, Mr. Biraj Adhikari and leaders of other opposition parties for corrupting the minds, misleading people of Sikkim and making totally false stories. It is high time for every individual Sikkimese to wake up and know the difference between the Right Leader and the Misleading Leaders else time is not to far when things will run out of control and this misleading leaders will come up with again something that will be hard to digest and gain media attentions.

The opposition is left with only one option, that is to blame our HCM of disproportionate wealth because in no way they can defeat SDF in principle and the party has shown how the developmental works are to be done. Now the opposition parties in Sikkim have started to feel that their very existence is impossible if they fail to bring a slur to the name of Dr. Chamling. They are playing what is often termed as 'Dirty Politics'. They know how to criticize a move by the government but they have never learnt that in democracy, it is also the irresponsibility of the opposition parties to help form a healthy public opinion by providing alternate solutions to what they object, but it is sad to say that our opposition parties are only after Dr. Chamling.
