SDF founder member furious over DT Lepcha’s comment on PS Tamang
Gangtok, February 7: Seeking an apology from Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) vice president and former Minister DT Lepcha for advising dissident MLA PS Tamang, founder members of the party including former legislator Bhoj Raj Rai today rapped Lepcha for his remarks saying that neither Lepcha nor any member within the party had the right to suggest Tamang. Rai and other founder members including RK Taling, Jacob Khaling, Mani Pratap Tamang, CK Gurung and others met at Rai’s residence in Namchi on Saturday in disapproval of Lepcha’s remarks.
It may be mentioned here that Lepcha during a party function in Tamang’s Upper Burtuk Constituency last week had said the party expected Tamang to return back and work for the people adding that if he doesn’t do so then he should resign.
A press release issued by Bhoj Raj Rai, who is also the party advisor reads ‘Lepcha should apologize for suggesting Tamang’. On the standpoint of being founder members of the party, Rai further said, ‘Lepcha having joined the party much later than Tamang has no right to comment on or advice a founder member and MLA PS Tamang. ‘Lepcha’s comment is an insult to the MLAs and all of them should seek apology from him’, it said.
The meeting also held that SDF president should initiate disciplinary action against Lepcha for his offensive comments and also questioned why the disciplinary action committee was mum on the issue. The founder members also criticized SDF president Pawan Kumar Chamling for his reluctance to act against Lepcha overlooking the founder members and youths.

DT Lepcha should realize his worth before making such comments, he was one of the MLA’s that was denied a ticket during the last election due to non performance (phereko karang of the SDF chhata) , he won his first assembly elections on a Sikkim Sangram Parishad ticket and on Bhandari’s name and then switched loyalties, he is probably the most unpopular lepcha leader amongst the lepcha community till date and now is passing comments on a person who is probably going to be the next Chief Minister of Sikkim……what is wrong with you Mr.D.T…….

GOLEY SHOULD NOT RESEIGN FROM SDF BUT WORK AGAINST THE DICTATORIAL FUCTIONING OF CHAMLING GOVERNMENT – THAT WILL LEAD TO INDICIPLINE IN THE SDF PARTY AND OTHERS WILL ALSO FOLLOW ——–this will then give rise to the growth of democracy in Sikkim
golay is fooling the people and making a joke of the peoples mandate by ignoring his constituency, he should definitely resign and win again in the by-polls if he thinks he is that popular. he won selling chamlings name so he should resign in the name of political morality n get elected in his own name first. but he wont coz he is ready to leave his junta but not his MLA ship. typical crook politician like his guru chams…..

@Ratan, Chamling was thrown out by bhandari after the iconic search of democracy in the assembly. Also he was a MINISTER and not an mla at that time. Everyone knows that. The fact that you dont, i guess, makes you uninformed.
