Land acquisition for Sikkim University is an eyewash: SPCC

08 Nov, Gangtok: Sikkim Pradesh Congress Committee (SPCC) has extended its dissatisfaction over the land acquisition procedure for establishment of Sikkim University at Yangang. In the party press statement made my K.N Lepcha said that the genuine public should be permitted to participate in public hearings over the issues.
“The entire procedure of land acquisition was dominated by Minister’s and concerned MLA further lands were acquired against the wish of land owners said the SPCC.”
In the case of compulsory acquisition of land for Sikkim University Government should take care to safe guard the interest of the land owners .The State Government should ensure a proper and adequate compensation as well as rehabilitate people physically and economically said the SPCC.
