Sikkim Party comes under protection of local rights against Bihari's in Sikkim- In the Pic SNPP President Biraj Adhikari

VoiceofSikkim
07 Nov, Gangtok:  After Raj Thackeray’s anti Bihari slogan that created a big political issue in Maharashtra, yesterday BJP’s Madhya Pradesh CM  Shivraj Singh Chouhan echoed the same slogan. Barely after a hours the statement was raised in Madhya Pradesh , In Sikkim the Sikkim Political Party SNPP (Sikkim Nationalist People’s Party) president Biraj Adhikari  took over the baton for safe guard of locals right here in there state. He claimed that increasing Bihari migration in Sikkim has tremendously affected the socio-economic rights of locals. He stated that “Chamling government  need to check the growing threats towards Sikkim locals on this issue and take a proper measure accordingly as such locals would be benefited .”.
On his statement he pointed out that migrants are illegally possessing fake COI Certificate of Identification and  Sikkim Subject Certificate consequence of which may give a bigger problems in coming time if no actions are taken timely.

It may be recalled that few days before Bihari Jagaran Manch BJM President Swaminath Prasad had raised an issue regarding  central schemes benifits for 40,000 Biharis in Sikkim.  Swaminath had also criticized Chamling government and Sikkim Government Department’s  for not co-operating Bihari’s in Sikkim.

Really thank God Biraj is back. Everybody else only seems to be interested in power or money . Yes Biraj a lot of real sikkimese people are behind you. Keep it up. Everybody knows how GOI eat up sikkim and have not been fair in the last 35 years . Now they want impose all the illegal Indian laws to sikkim and violate the Constitution of India. Article 371. Why was it inserted there in the first place ? Why dont people question that and how it is being mutilated and the rights of the sikkimese people are being usurped … Time will come when the people will wake up… and understand .. The rest of the people who dont agree to this should be happy to pay Wealth and income tax …

Mr.Adhikari is crazy .He does not realise that this kind of action will wreck havoc on the Nepalese populations in the north east. This coupled with the opression of the Madhesis in Nepal will form a valid argument for the eviction and persecution of Nepalese minorities in the nort eastern states and in other states where they are in such aminiscule minorities.

To what base levels people like Adhikari decend to get cheap political popularity. Shame.

No mr pempa, you forget that there has been problems with biharis in noreast states in the past. Anyway every state in India seemd to have problems with biharis. States like punjab, maharastra, now madya pradesh etc. The question is whether prosperous states are to br the dumping ground for economic immigrants from failed states?. There is Bihar which is one of the richest regions of te world but we know how the bihari flood is affecting every state today is because it has failed to even have proper law in the state so the citizens run away. Instead of finding a solution to this mass migration into Sikkim we should not be shouting down on mr Adhikari as because here in Sikkim we have already become outnumbered and in a few years we might be even ruled by them !! At least these guys are talking of the problem and if I am not mistaken have also asked for a debate on this problem at a national level.

  11. Bagawandas says:

    Hi Bikash,
Everybody know that N.K. Pradhan is actually Bihari, he is from Prasad stock, but in sikkim … Lepcha becomes Rai, Pradhan becomes Lepcha , Lepcha becomes Bandhari bla bla.. not a big deal ! if you want , get Nepal citizenship also along with indian one. When a Tibetan refugee can take all the advantages simply by writting Bhutia… who cares.? when tibetan of north Sikkim can become Lepcha leader … nothing to get surprised….!
If govt. has any guts let them constitute a Committee to look into such matter.

    Mr.Bhagwandas,

You may be right to some extent, but the title followed historically and religiously is of the father and not the mother for your kind information .

May be in some society they follow the title of the mother , but surely not the in the case of Mr. N.K. what?????.

let’s not be too racial out here……..our bihari brothers should rightfully get the benefits of all the centrally sponsored schemes and the sikkim govt should look into the matter.now coming into the local people problem i never thought there was any coz how many of us has seen a ration shop or a pan dokan shop or shops dealing with hardware materials with a LOCAL owner except for a few ration shops that too might be rare.Only the license of the shops are registered in the name of local people so how come the biharis are eating away our local economy…..
