
Sikkim has been granted 10.86 Cr loan by Ministry of Tourism under CFA for heliport
05 Nov, New Delhi : Continual improvement of Sikkim progressive tourist hospitality service has flagged yet another milestone today. Now, Sikkim boast to have a Airport within next 2-3 years and Broad Gauge Railway connectivity by 2015 or before. Sikkim which has a distinct identity across the globe for it’s vivid culture, heritage, natural beauty make itself most promising destination unlike any other destinations elsewhere.
The Union Tourism Minister Kumari Selja has said that Ministry had decided to grant Central Finance Assistance (CFA) for the construction of Heliports in areas which are inaccessible but have tourism potential.
Addressing the Economic Editors’ Conference here Wednesday she said, the state of Sikkim has been granted CFA for heliport to develop three new destination projects namely Destination Development of Mangan Tourist Axis including Heliport in North Sikkim for Rs. 3.29 Cr., Geetang Khola waterfall including Heliport in West Sikkim for Rs. 3.25 Cr. and Berfung – Ralong Constituency including Heliport at Chemchey in South Sikkim for Rs. 4.22 Crs.
