CIPLA terminates 12 locals from the job, ASEUSEA assures to restore them
05 Oct, Rangpo: Twelve Local Employees of the CIPLA private limited were sacked form the company after they refused the company dictum to go for a further training of two years. Ms Preety gurung one of the sacked employee, while speaking to the SIKKIM MAIL explained that as per the norms and condition during the job appointment, the company had stated that after joining the job they have to go for two years of training after which all the trained employee would be termed as deemed as permanent and absorbed within the company. But however after completion of two years of training company refuted and further extended the training for next two years instead of absorbing them. Ms Preety Gurung claimed that CIPLA has been violating the state Government norms for locals employment in premises, she added that company makes a par difference between a locals and non-locals. The sacked employee were barred with salary, bonus instead company announced them to leave their room as soon as possible. Smit Rai, Thendup Bhutia, Preety Pariyaar, Rezi Bhutia, Hemant, Sanjeev Kumar, Nayan Lavar, Rudra Kumar Subba, Arjun rai, Jagat and Preety gurung did not receive their salary neither bonus till date. Though having a ability to and zest to do work without hesitation but despite company discriminated against them. The company is always against the local employees. Though few days back a meeting was held between the Democratic labor front, the company management and victims regardless no any abrupt justice was given for the sacked employees from both the ends. Having aware of un availability of justice they formed an unanimous committee titled CIPLA Trained Operating Staff. After formation of the body company took very drastic steps towards them and targeted individually and even barred form entering the premises of the factory. The victimized employee’s wants to meet CM and minister regarding the issue she said, the MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) between the company and state government has been violated purely by the company. The All Sikkim Educated Unemployed Association (ASEUSEA) president Mr. T.B Rai has urged all the locals to awaken themselves and raise a voice their dignity, and demanded that 80% of reservation of works should flow for locals. Mr Rai stated that the terms and condition is to be made by the people and not by the company. Rai assured that 12 sacked employees would be provided back with their jobs in CIPLA in coming days.
