Panel to expedite development projects in Sikkim
Gangtok (PTI): The Sikkim government has set up a committee headed by Rural Management and Development Minister C B Karki to expedite development projects in the rural areas.Official sources said on Thursday the committee has been entrusted with the task of chalking out village development projects within a 100-day period and will monitor the execution in a time-bound manner.While the Rural Development Secretary has been made the Member Secretary of the committee, its members include officials from various departments, besides the MLA of the respective area.
The constitution of the committee for village development actionplan is in conformity with Pawan Kumar Chamling government’s policy to bridge the rural-urban gap of the hill state with thrust on infrastructure development in the villages.
