
Sikkim Taekwondo team to leave for Vishakpatnam
GANGTOK, July 5: A 23-member Taekwondo team of Sikkim Amateur Taekwondo Association (SATA) will be leaving for Vishakpatnam, Andhra Pradesh where the 27th Sub-Junior Nationals Taekwondo Championship is scheduled to be held from July 10 to 12 at Swarnabharati Indoor Stadium.
The team led by Trilok Subba (chief coach) as team manager will be accompanied by Pradeep Mukhia of Namchi and Sanjay Subba of Central Pendam as team coaches while Dawa Tamang of Gangtok will go as technical official.
A press release adds that the championship is being organized by Taekwondo Federation of India and more then 26 States and Union Territories teams are expected to participate. Only the players below 14 years are allowed to participate in this championship.
The names of the prayers from Sikkim are Prem Dorjee Sherpa, Wilson Pradhan, Saurav Sunar, Johanan Lepcha, Sahil Giri, Saroj Gurung, Sonam Sherpa, Sudesh Lepcha, Dichen Doma Bhutia, Abisek Thapa, Gitanajali Regmi, Kunjang Palmu Bhutia, Mingma Lhamu Sherpa, Ikla Subba of Gangtok, Milan Rai, Sandeep Sharma and Rita Sharma of Central Pandam, Anita Subba of Biring, Anjilina Rai of Uttaray and Puran Gurung of Mangan.
