
PS Tamang receives a surety bond bail from Vigilance Court
Gangtok, July 3: Sitting MLA of the ruling Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) party, PS Tamang was granted a surety bond bail by the designated Vigilance Court of the District and Session Court, Sichey here today.
Mr. Tamang, a former three time minister has been accused of misappropriating more than Rs. 75 lakhs during the distribution of milch cows to BPL people during 1996 to 1997 in the case filed by Vigilance Police.
The MLA and four other accused persons appeared today before the designated Vigilance Judge of the District and Sessions Court (North & East) Tashi Wangdi. The court served the copies of the chargesheet to the accused persons.
Mr. Tamang was accompanied by his lawyers, KT Bhutia, BR Pradhan, Bandhan Rai and Bandhana Pradhan.
It may be recalled that the Vigilance Police had submitted the chargesheet following the directions of the State High Court on the petition filed by the opposition party members alleging gross misappropriation on distribution of milch cows to the BPL people.
Vigilance Police has accused Prem Singh Tamang, Sudesh Tamang, Sanjay Agarwal, Til Baahadur Gurung and Kushu Agrawal under section 403/409/468/120B of IPC and Section 13(2) 13(1) (d)of Prevention of Corruption Act.
It’s nothing but someone who do not wants Golay to come ahead in frame of Sikkim politics. They are trying to ditch Golay in every angle, wondering why golay is clinging on them after all now he is been banged with misappropriation of 75 lacs above. It’s high time for him to react instead of living in mercy hands of those group.
